Promoting Sustainable Growth for Vietnam’s Aquaculture and Livestock Industries

Ho Chi Minh City, September 11, 2024 – Farmvina is pleased to share information about two significant upcoming events in the agricultural sector: the Aquaculture Vietnam International Exhibition and the Vietstock Expo & Forum International Exhibition on Livestock, Animal Husbandry, and Veterinary Medicine. Both exhibitions will be held concurrently from October 9 to 11, 2024, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC).

Aquaculture Vietnam: Striking a Balance Between Growth and Sustainability

Vietnam’s aquaculture industry holds immense potential due to its extensive coastline and dense river network. This sector plays a crucial role in ensuring food security and contributing to the nation’s exports. Statistics show that aquaculture production in the first six months of 2024 exceeded 2.43 million tons, contributing to a total seafood output of over 4.38 million tons. Seafood export value also reached an impressive 4.355 billion USD.

However, the aquaculture industry still faces numerous challenges, including disease outbreaks, climate change, and environmental pollution. Fierce competition and trade barriers in major markets also pose significant hurdles.

To achieve sustainable development, the industry needs to focus on digital transformation, ensuring food safety and hygiene, and expanding market access. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is also crucial, with solutions such as utilizing alternative feeds and renewable energy. The government has been implementing various policies to support farmers, ranging from preferential credit to technology transfer. Collaboration among stakeholders is key to ensuring the sustainable and prosperous development of Vietnam‘s aquaculture industry.

Vietnam’s Livestock Industry: Sustainable Development

Vietnam’s livestock industry is experiencing robust growth, making a substantial contribution to the agricultural economy. However, climate change and limited resources present significant challenges. Transitioning towards green livestock practices and adopting advanced technologies are essential solutions.

The government has issued the Livestock Development Strategy for the period 2021-2030, with a vision towards 2045, aiming to promote sustainable development in the industry. Strengthening international cooperation and technology transfer are among the top priorities.

Vietstock Expo & Forum 2024 is the premier event for the livestock, animal feed, and meat processing industries in Vietnam. The exhibition brings together leading experts, manufacturers, and suppliers in the industry, providing opportunities for networking, learning, and exploring cutting-edge solutions.

With the participation of renowned speakers, in-depth seminars, and a diverse product showcase, Vietstock 2024 will offer valuable insights and knowledge about market trends, new technologies, and sustainable solutions for the livestock industry.
